"Prayer Four"
When giving thanks comes hard for you,
And things are grim,
And hope runs thin,
Recall:
Despair’s a door to pass on through,
And not a home for living in.
When giving thanks fills up your cup,
And those you love are all about,
Look to your blessings, count them up,
And give back something to the world without.
Go in peace.
Go for peace.
For all who see God,
May God go with you.
For all who embrace life,
May life return your affection.
For all who seek a right path,
May we be found…
And the courage to take it
Step by step.
Amen.

Hi, thanks for posting this poem! The closing lines have been favorites of mine for years, and I find that they appear in "Singing the Living Tradition" as reading #700.
In the hymnal, though, the text reads in part: "For all who seek a right path, may a way be found. . ." This makes so much more sense to me. Was it a change made by committee, or have you got a typo here?
